We Took the Fight to Annapolis | Saving Maryland Historic Plates

Maryland car enthusiasts stood together in Annapolis to support Senate Bill SB452 and SB566, legislation that would restore a true rolling 25-year standard for Maryland Historic vehicle plates.

In this video, I document our journey to the Maryland State House as members of the Maryland Collectible Auto Association (MCAA), leaders from the AACA, supportive delegates, and passionate car enthusiasts testified before the Senate. This isn’t just about license plates. It’s about protecting automotive heritage in Maryland.

Last year’s law effectively froze Historic plate eligibility at 1999 and older vehicles. That means as time passes, fewer cars qualify. SB452 and SB566 aim to fix that by restoring a rolling 25-year eligibility standard, helping preserve classic, antique, and collectible vehicles for future generations.
